Welcome to my “welcome” blog post. It’s a strange thing, writing a post to introduce yourself. Hauntingly close to that cringe worthy round of icebreakers during frosh week. But without the keg stand initiation…so far.
I guess I shall start with the basics.
My name is Sunta Sem. Sunta like the “sun.” That giant ball of fire in the sky. And yes, that’s how I have to say it to the folks at Starbucks.
I am the newest member of the brilliant Onboardly team and I’m coming at you from the hustle and bustle of Toronto; the city that brings you thriving startups and heartbreaking moments in hockey.
Well, heartbreaking for some, expected by many.
But cynic I am not. For instance, I actually believe that you can make a living by doing what you love. For me, two of my passions are writing and helping businesses grow.
My role at Onboardly is to do the former, to achieve the latter.
Having worked for a digital agency specializing in social media marketing for small business to then building an online jewelry business with an amazingly loyal following, I have seen with my own eyes, the power of this digital world we live in. More accurately, the power of staying as human as possible even when our transactions become increasingly virtual.
As Digital Content Strategist, my goals are to ensure that the work we produce as a team, best reflects the high standard of quality we set for ourselves. Work that is well-written, compelling and actually provides value, not just noise.
Basically, I’m hoping to pry readers away from Buzzfeed for, like, a few minutes a week. That penguin list will still be there when you go back, I promise.
From entrepreneur to intrapraneur, I am ecstatic to work with crazy smart and driven people who all want to help innovative companies expand their audience, turn readers into customers and turn customers into ambassadors.
If that sounds good to you, make sure you say hello. Onboardly will now be proudly repped in Toronto, and I couldn’t be more excited!
Feel free to say hello or if you have any questions please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
